In preparation for the 2001, I got really ambitious over the past few months and finally got all the electronics laid out the way I want them. I now have a fully integrated sound system built from:
A Cycle-Comm CB Radio with integrated stereo adapter
A Cycle-Comm Radar alert override
A Kennedy Technologies cell phone adapter
This now gives me all four audio sources with appropriate overrides, stereo, CB, radar detector and cell phone. All other systems that I checked out would only give me three or less.
I also have a Garmin eMap GPS system on the bike and have replaced the factory clock with a Fuel+ trip computer that has been programmed to include the auxilary fuel cell.
Here are pictures of the cockpit all laid out. I like things clean and neat. If I had to look at wires hanging out and stuff flopping around as I rode down the highway it would drive me nuts. The one thing I still have to figure out in a neat way is to interface my mini-CD player into the stereo source to integrate with my am-fm radio. The one problem I am concerned with is skip. With the mini-CD in my pocket I have no worries about skip but that may be a different story if it were mounted to the bike. Time will tell.....
Anyway, here are pic's of the set up so you can appreciate the above....
